Key features
- Non-contact spectral measurement technology: Performs non-destructive surface measurements; completely eliminates errors due to changes in working distance, tilt angle, or surface waviness of the film.
- Superior response speed: Completes a signal measurement in just ≤ 2ms with a sampling frequency of up to 30 measurements/second, perfectly meeting the requirements of continuously operating production lines.
- Flexible motorized swivel probe: Integrates automatic scanning features along the coating profile (Swivel range 25mm), combined with the ability for sophisticated manual distance adjustment (Z-axis).
- Modular distribution architecture: Allows flexible setup customization from a simple desktop system line (TCM LITE) to an inline spectral cabinet (TCM INLINE) integrating up to 9 optical probes.
- In-depth control platform: The heart of the ETA-TCM software provides automatic spectral processing tools, real-time data display (trend display), sets error warning limits, and visually classifies scrap.
Detailed description
Thickness spectral analysis with advanced FFT algorithm
The TCM system operates based on the principle of capturing the near-infrared (NIR) spectrum. Light from the Halogen lamp cluster is projected through the sample surface and reflected back to the InGaAs 256 pixel detector. Instead of using physical touch techniques, the raw optical data will be extracted by the ETA-TCM software using fast Fourier transform (FFT) analysis. The thickness of the film is identified as peaks, providing extremely low repeatability error (3σ ≤ 0.005 µm) without the need for continuous referencing.
The vital piece of the Lithium battery manufacturing line
In the structure of the Lithium battery, the ultra-thin dielectric film is usually wet coated close to the edge of the aluminum cathode electrode. Even a small error in this material layer can reduce lifespan or cause serious short-circuit incidents. TCM addresses this issue with a dedicated measurement range for both wet film (7 - 200 µm) and dry film (1 - 25 µm). The ability to closely monitor fluctuations right on the production line (Inline) helps the supervisor catch process errors early, minimizing risks for the batch.
Timeless automation capability and reliability
With 30 years of experience deployed in the harshest industrial conditions, the TCM hardware platform is capable of stable operation for decades. The electrical cabinet system allows for seamless data connection from up to 9 offline and inline spectral modules to the central PLC brain via a 24VDC digital standard or TCP/IP local area network (LAN), easily realizing the smart factory process.
