Key features
- Comprehensive multi-isotope analysis capability: Accurate and flexible measurement of a wide range of isotopes including 10Be, 14C, 26Al, 41Ca, 129I, U, Pu, and other actinides on a single system.
- Superior ion optical optimization: Integrated ion optical system is aligned and configured specifically for each type of isotope, ensuring maximum signal transmission and reception performance.
- Rapid isotope switching: Allows flexible and instantaneous switching between different isotope measurements without disrupting workflow.
- Fully automated CO2 gas sample measurement: The modern hybrid negative ion cesium source can be directly integrated with the Gas Interface System (GIS) for continuous gas flow measurements.
- Increased uninterrupted measurement efficiency: Supports an automatic sample tray changer for extremely fast sample box (magazine) swapping, allowing continuous measurement 24/7 without breaking the vacuum environment or cooling the ion source.
- Ultra-compact and environmentally safe design: Maximizes laboratory space with a neat structure; utilizes a vacuum insulation platform and completely eliminates the need for toxic insulating gas SF6.
- Durable operation with minimal maintenance: The equipment features a solid-state accelerator structure with no moving mechanical parts, helping to minimize damage and save on maintenance costs..
Detailed description
MILEA integrates ion source technology and the accelerator of the MICADAS series with the high-energy ion optical layout of the TANDY device (ETH Zurich). The system operates at a voltage of 300 kV on a vacuum insulation platform, using helium stripping technology, a 7 Faraday cup collector, and a low-noise improved ΔE-Egas gas ionization chamber that optimizes ion optics for each isotope.
Traditional multi-isotope AMS systems often require large areas, complex maintenance, and use the toxic insulating gas SF6. MILEA completely addresses this with a compact design (3.5x7m), completely eliminating SF6 gas, minimizing maintenance, and allowing for quick transitions between isotopes.
Integration/expansion: The device synchronously connects with the GIS gas sample interface for automatic CO2 gas measurement, the automatic sample box replacement unit AMC enables continuous measurement without losing vacuum, along with ACS software and the LMP data system.
