Detailed description
Technology & principles
Attom ES is a high-frequency plasma mass spectrometer (HR-ICP-MS) using dual-focusing technology, allowing for the simultaneous separation and detection of ions from the ICP source with high mass resolution. The fast scanning system combined with a wide-range detector enables the detection of multiple isotopes & elements in a single analysis, optimized for complex geological and environmental sample backgrounds.
Common limitations of ICP-MS:
- Experiments requiring extremely high sensitivity along with the ability to separate overlapping isotopes.
- Nano-particle analysis, single-particle requires very short dwell times but must still ensure stability & sensitivity.
Advantages of the Attom ES system
- The dual-focusing design allows for the separation of spectral interference, with flexible resolution slit settings.
- The wide dynamic range detector enables simultaneous analysis of ultra-trace and high concentrations on the same sample.
- Short dwell time (10-70 μs) combined with fast scanning.
- The flexible resolution slit system ensures customizable resolution.
Integration & expansion
- The system can be directly connected to a laser ablation system (193nm, 213nm).
- Integrated with the Aridus sample introduction system.
- Connected to an autosampler.
